Our most common questions

What are terpenes?

Terpenes are molecules found in animals, plants, fungi and microbes. They are responsible for a plants scent, as well as necessary biological functions such as producing vitamins, hormones, pheromones and defence.

Terpenes and cannabinoids are what embody different cannabis strains with therapeutic effects. Myrcene, for example, is a potent sedative terpene found in Indica cannabis strains, used for insomnia and anxiety. Myrcene can also be found in mangoes, hops, bay leaves and lemongrass.

Do your products contain THC and CBD?

Our terpenes are botanically derived (not from cannabis). The molecular structure of each terpene remains the same, whether it's derived from cannabis, or found in the botanical world.

Under current cannabis legislation, our products contain no THC or CBD.

Our powerful blends of terpenes can be taken in conjunction with legal CBD to further enhance it's incredible medicinal effects.

What  is the endocannabinoid system?

Each one of us have an Endocannabinoid System (ECS). The endocannabinoid system is a vast and complex network of receptors in enzymes involved in regulating pain sensation, appetite, memory, mood and sleep. The ECS provides a communication link between our gut and the brain, enabling them to "speak" to each other.

Within the endocannabinoid system is an internal system of cannabinoid receptors, called CB1 and CB2. These receptors are activated by cannabinoids, found in hemp, cannabis and other botanical plants such as black pepper, cloves, ginseng and black truffles.

Our endocannabinoid system is spread over every organ and muscle in our body. Dense pockets of this system are found in the brain, specifically in the neocortext, hippocampus, basal ganglia, amygdala, striatum, cerebellum and hypothalamus. These regions in our brain regulate a variety of crucial behavioural functions, such as learning, memory, decision making, sensory and motor responsiveness and emotional reactions. Due to the extreme complexity of the human brain, the endocannabinoid system can affect behaviour in a limitless number of ways.
